Purchase and Stores Committee 

    The Stores and Purchase Committee is responsible for the overall purcahses in the college regarding laboratory equipment, items required during the

function organizations and other things required for the college. The Committee is responsible to create the interaction between higher authorities of the

institution with the company authorities for the negotiations. 
 

Basic Functions of the Committee

• The Convener of the Purchase committee shall call for quotations from reputed companies for the purchase of non-consumable equipment and submit it to the HOD concerned.
• The HOD concerned shall prepare the comparative quotation statement in consultation with the respective Lab. In -charge and lab technician taking in to account of various features offered by the companies and submit the report to the Principal.
• After carefully examining the report submitted by HOD, the Principal may call the companies to meet him in person for further negotiations. Purchase orders will be placed to the companies which meet the stipulated norms whose bid is attractive and competitive.
• The Purchase order contains the details of the Quantity Required, Tax details, Last date for delivery & Mode of payment.
• After the purchase of the equipment/ instruments, it is thoroughly verified by the Lab. In -charge & Lab. Technician and its details are entered in the department stock register and it is duly signed by HOD, Purchase officer and Principal.
• In case of immediate needs for departments, the HOD can make direct purchase of components or equipment, after obtaining approval from the Principal.
• It is the responsibility of the Purchase Committee to make arrangements for servicing/repairing of items/device/equipment if they fail to work.
